The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 小成本雪夜密室（？）。消遣一下，还算能看。小女孩略吵，钉枪杀伤力也蛮猛的…但是没有女主猛。
挺有趣的，也可以想象要是杰森·斯坦森来演的话会另有一番趣味。

钉子作为凶器太新奇了! 诡异又有一种廉价的神圣感，很喜欢。
略显俗套了些，女主的背景和遭遇倒是交代的很详细，但似乎跟电影没啥太大的转折关联，暴风雪的悬疑惊悚片，看开头差不多已经帮编剧把结尾安排好，实际看下来也确实八九不离十，前期四人里猜测凶手，中期抓住凶手的帮凶还有谁，结尾警察走过场送人头并闹场，女主如何一己之力终结凶手，虽然剧本单薄，好在过程没有太多废话和拖沓，节奏和走向利索干脆，不过还是逃不了逻辑问题和角色蠢钝，好几次可以摆平的局面，硬是搞成不可收拾的残局，90分钟这样批发而来的故事确实不好凑，但能在预期内落幕还带点爽利感，相较这两年的好莱坞类型片低迷的制作环境来说，还是颇具亮点和诚意的。★★☆

女主演技不错，有枪的时候不控制住恶人是这种片的老问题了，里面有两个人光速白给也是老套路。
貌似是看的欧美第一部亚裔大女主的恐怖片，长了我喜欢看的脸，除此之外就是常规反杀类型片，但观感就是不一样。
还阔以，电影本身的节奏没有解说视频的好2333，但也是合格的爆米花电影了
对于一部动作喜剧片而言，这部电影也过于无聊了……
高于预期啊，很好看，虽然这配乐有点过了，，女主很漂亮，像女排 惠若琪。
不太好。设定为困兽斗的故事 密室小成本 还主打血腥惊悚 拍出来却没有任何惊喜。别人的密室可以增加冲突紧凑性 但这里的密室只会让人感觉经费不够。第一次所谓的“juice”要到女主的手被钉住了 前面一个小时从发现小女孩到开始认清坏人都在拖拖拉拉。还有值得一提的是 好像这电影若有似无地宣扬了吸毒的好处 磕了药不怕痛还可以智商提升及中枪不死 实属不该这样啊。不过女主越来越有味道 头发好多 在雪地里躺着一头浓密卷发散开 还挺好看的。
演员们都演技不错哎，最后半小时反转反转再反转，结尾在戒毒所看着墙上的画那个镜头我内心一句WTF，别是个非常嫌疑犯一样的故事啊，不过下个镜头就看到Jay画的画了。好奇主角妹妹棕发灰眸是混血还是少数民族呀。
[hulu][origin][EngSub]同名小说改编，暴风雪山庄系悬疑，剧情短小精悍，亚裔主角确实罕见，好人市民只能说有点惨，米国步枪协会狂喜，这几个好人市民里但凡一个人带枪就可以提前结束了。你看，好人没有武器就是这个下场，所以emmmmm....
