The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will.     本来打算打三星的,因为故事实在太平淡毫无新意。但看到最末两个人分别时依依不舍,我改变了主意。是有那么一点点,回忆到了从前。不是自己,是自己很年轻时听到的类似的故事,提到类似的场景。一度因为年龄而忘记的对爱情的憧憬与感动,似乎被他们的眼泪,一时间召回了似的。主角的两人活脱地就是一对恋人,因为两个人的对手戏都很自然。

    虽然故事有些俗套 但是最起码没有完全垮掉 能看下去 两位演员的演技太自然了 特别是哭戏 有时候看电影并不需要从中有什么寓意才叫好看的电影 有时候看的开心也是重要的吧

    色调很喜欢,复古粘腻,配乐很应景。尤其两个人合唱的时候,真的想说,这才算有效煽情。“不要以神的名义来表达自己的厌恶之情”,即使下地狱也是他们自己的事,能体会cario的被否定,甚至被诅咒的感觉,的确需要好久才能恢复。没有任何人可以诅咒你怎样,爱只是爱,即使是恋人也不可以。

    我认为这部剧始终的信息是,男孩们的爱情里,即刻即永恒。外在压力压缩了我对你爱意的表达空间,但是我仍然要尽全力和你心意交融,所以相伴的每一刻我都是全部的我自己,放松而坦荡。

    没看过剧版直接看的大电影,所以有些支线人物的关系是理不清的。单从主线来讲,总觉得Cai是配不上Gav的。从开头每次Gav想要亲热时他都是很不情愿的推开,到Susan阿姨到访时他豪不礼貌的顶撞,这真的是代表了生活中一少部分BL人群的生活模式,也是最招人讨厌的那一批人。好在后半程逐渐讨喜,不然Cai将是个灾难性的角色。总的来说还是一部很甜的腐影,东南亚风情很浓。但建议直男直女承受力低的还是别看,看后对于改善你们对同志的刻板印象百害而无一利。
