The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 75/100 影片最初诸多大号字体的画面混入就奠定了喜感下的焦虑基调，在后续一系列糟糕事件纷至沓来之际，苦中作乐逐渐沦为一部“家庭&社会恐怖片”。但预置的基调终将意味着“理想化”，失业、婆媳矛盾、财务困难等沉重困境被一一击破，还被感动了一把，鸡汤虽假，但足以慰藉
很可爱的小片，尤其是老太太与天海佑希讨论想进入宝冢当男角的那一段。
真实又有趣，剧情稀碎主要还是靠演技，最后原来是让以房养老
生前葬挺好的，不想死了后那么沉闷，也不想听和尚念经，感谢生命中出现的人，大家开开心心多好。
只要追日剧够久就能看到女王跟喜欢的男优搭档，这次是跟五郎叔的搭配，小寿寿桑这次变成了五郎的父亲，看到熟悉的脸真开心。女王还被吐槽进不了宝冢演男角，真是太有梗。笃子和丈夫都是善良包容又隐忍的父母呢，但又不是那种苦情兮兮的角色，是没什么本事，但也乐观在努力的人。
全片都有一种用力过猛的表达感，到最后推荐的共享生活也是理想到不能再理想的情况，至于双职工中年离职再就业，诸位可以试试自己身上有没有这么好的运气。更不要说家长里短有兄妹几人的，照顾长辈嘴上说着孝顺孝敬，米面粮油这种鸡毛蒜皮的东西都能吵的鸡飞狗跳，年轻人一句话，少生孩子多种树，闲来没事多看书，干啥都比等电影里的剧情发生在自己生活中现实。

当爆米花电影看还算不错，这么通情达理的婆婆可难找，女性还是太难了，有这个精力和金钱还是花在自己身上吧，把房子卖了租sharehouse也是有资金的底气支持啊

怎么说呢，我总觉得关于钱好像不是这么轻易的。又或许是资本主义国家分配得贴心，钱凑凑就有了，也不是真正的危机。
这也没有借鉴的余地呀，就咱这医疗和养老状况。日本至少医疗和工作平等性方面还有得权衡。
没想象的好，预告以为是电视剧，观感也很像电视剧。公租房总觉得没有那么好，你并不知道一起住的都是些什么人，毕竟楼上楼下关系已经跟难处了。
婆婆才是亮点（特别是宝冢吐槽），不过最后明明都有工作了却卖房住合租屋，这日本的不动产是租不出去吗？
幽默，讽刺，好笑的同时又透着对生活的无奈。不可多得的佳作
